House Conversion | Brighton

House conversion and extension of a detached Victorian house in Brighton into 6 new flats

House Conversion

Brighton

This beautiful detached Victorian house, in Brighton, has been in the same family for the last hundred years. The house is in need of repair and modernisation, so the family are looking for a plan to secure the house‚Äôs future.

Studio Wolsey carried out a feasibility study for the house with different options for its future use. The proposed scheme is for a large rear extension and full house conversion into six flats.

The house has beautiful original interiors, so we felt it was important to try and retain as many historic features as possible. The existing carved staircase will be retained, as will the stained glass windows and much of the internal decorative plasterwork.

As part of the house conversion, we designed a large rear extension to unify the back of the house, which had become messy with several mismatched extensions. The house is located in a Conservation area, so it was essential that the rear extension was designed to be in keeping with the original house.

Whatever your project... finding that someone you can trust, to care as much about it as you, is imperative.
I have been very fortunate as Studio Wolsey, Sarah and her team have been that for me.
